Cookies, Google Analytics and Social Media

I thought that the new cookies regulations only applied when you were collecting personal data.  I was wrong, cookies are used for Google analytics and they are gathering data about the visitor.

The visitor must have the choice as to whether they allow their visit to your site to be tracked with cookies.

I don’t think you have to have a big banner giving them the option to allow cookies or not but you are obliged to tell them about the cookies you use and how they can disable them.

I have put together a little guide on how we use cookies and how to disable cookies in the main browsers.
