Tracey was able to take the vision I had in my head and create something beautiful from those ideas. My new site is everything I hoped it would be, and more.
I began blogging in 2013 as a way of sharing a challenge related project I was working on. Back then I had no idea it was going to change my life. That blog became a best-selling book, and, in turn, has evolved into a full-time personal development business. Blogging on the WordPress platform was easy, but with no technical knowledge, I relied on the basic stock themes. While there’s nothing wrong with this, I knew that to help grow my business both online and within my local networks I needed a more professional look. That’s when I got in touch with Tracey.
I had a few basic ideas in my head about how I wanted the site to look but no understanding as to whether it was possible. I needed to sell products and services as well as maintain my long-running blog. As I create content, eCourses, and workshops for a female audience it had to appeal to that demographic, however, I’m not a pink and frilly girly girl, so I didn’t want a pink and frilly website. I love circles and colourful images as well as the capacity to engage with my audience. Having the ability to share my content across all the social media platforms was also high on my priority list.
Tracey was able to take the vision I had in my head and create something beautiful from those ideas. We emailed a couple of times with initial ideas, and then I completed a questionnaire so Tracey knew the kind of things I wanted from my new website, she also asked me to share with her a variety of sites I loved so she could gauge my tastes. From this, Tracey was able to collate all the elements that appealed to me and use them on my site. The scrolling posts at the top of the site were something I’d never considered, and yet it’s the one thing that hooks me in every time I visit. I love the instant pop of colour as my content slides into view. Tracey added my most valuable content further down the home page which enables me to share and update my popular Real Women Real Lives features, my theme of the month posts, and my downloadable content. I was delighted that within days of the site going live, I received an abundance of signups to my newsletter via the download button.
At every stage of the creation process, Tracey kept me in the loop with what she was doing, and when I could expect to see each phase. We had spoken about the time frame before beginning the project which was especially useful for me with regards to creating the necessary content. She talked me through every step and held my hand when I needed to do anything technical such as purchasing plugins, etc. Although I was already a WordPress user, there were some slight changes to the self-hosted site compared to what I had been using. Tracey sent me ‘cheat sheets’ so I knew how to navigate the site and share my posts with ease. This was a lovely touch, and I found it to be incredibly helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, and no question I asked was too silly. It was a pleasure to work with someone who cares about your project as much as you do. My new site is everything I hoped it would be, and more, and that’s down to Tracey’s professionalism and quality of service.
I can’t recommend Tracey Rickard Web Design enough.
