Web Design for Children’s Authors

Over the years I have done a lot of web design for children’s authors. I have just completed another project that is about to launch and the penny has finally dropped, I love this work!

I really do love everything about creating for children’s authors from the beautiful illustrations that I get to work with to the unique and fun layouts that I am encouraged to create.

The authors are lovely people and many of them are not too keen on the technology, which is why they are such a perfect match for me. I am known for my patience and client care, so I am good at guiding my clients through the steps to be able to manage their own website but only if they really want to.

These websites are usually e-commerce online shops and I make sure that every step of the set up is completed to perfection, which means that my authors have nothing to worry about apart from packing and despatching their orders. If they work with Bookvault this can be done automatically. Another alternative is to link from their book pages out to Amazon if they don’t want to get involved with taking payments directly.

These websites are glorious, they are so much fun to create and I love looking back at them. It’s a great thing when you realise that there are some things in life that really energise you and bring your greatest creativity. Designing for children’s authors truly is one of those niches for me.
