I love designing bespoke websites of all types. eCommerce websites are a bit more involved because they do a lot more than a basic brochure site. There are also lots of legalities to consider, you need to make sure you provide certain documentation and are transparent about contact details and locations for your business. There is more on that here.
Not all eCommerce websites are about online shopping. Lots of people process payments for all kinds of reasons.
Here are a few examples of the many eCommerce websites I have built over the years …
Wedding Converse is a full eCommerce website. They sell bespoke shoes that are personalised so they need lots of options for the customer to be able to complete like names and dates, whether they would like crystal decoration or plain, plus the obvious items, such as size and colours.
Piece of Cake marketing is not your typical eCommerce website. They are not an online shop but they do sell some of the publications that they produce for social media training. Hence they have a little online shop on the website.
Bright Jewellery is a collection of hand made jewellery. Stock management is important in this website because once an item is gone it is gone. Another can be made so Keith likes to keep all products on the backburner in case he needs to use them again.
I loved building the Mala Den, it was a chance to do something a little bit different and really design a unique online shopping site. The Malas are all handmade and with yoga on the up in these times of increased stress the website does really well.
Beautiful sunglasses worn by the stars. Finest Seven sunglasses are never short of a mention in top fashion magazines, like Vogue and Cosmo. They are worn by some very famous celebrities. Each style comes in a very wide range of colours and the website needs to be a product showcase.
Home of Makers is not a standard online shop. It is a membership website where furniture makers and designers join up for a fee and are able to add listings and advertise their products. The website needs eCommerce to be able to process payments and subscriptions and provide an automatic renewal mechanism.
The Cult Boutique is a fabulous online shop selling young fashion to appeal to the professional woman. Plenty of classic day wear with more daring evening wear. Professional photography is a must with a top eCommerce site and there is no shortage of that here. A really beautiful site. (Temporarily off line for maternity leave).
SWIB tribe is a business networking group for women who need to process membership subscriptions and event booking online. For that they need eCommerce. They need members to be able to sign up and pay and then add their profile information. Events are regularly updated with new ones all of the time and so online booking needs to be efficient with a smooth checkout.
Happy in Body are all about improving your relationship with food and the body. Claudia sells nutritional courses online, for which she needs eCommerce. Courses are drip fed through, so the clients need to complete the first module before they gain access to the second. This is all automated through the website as is online payment.
This is an eCommerce online store but they don’t sell physical products. Cartoon Resource is all about stock cartoons and customers are able to select a range of cartoons and make payment. All files are watermarked to protect them from theft. As soon as payment is made the customer is able to access the download original file without the watermark. There are a range of prices depending on image use and licensing.
That’s just a range, I have done plenty more and you can see those in my portfolio.
