‘Thanks for all your work on this. I’m really pleased with the results, so if I can do anything to recommend you to other local charities let me know.’ John Holmes
The Voluntary Sector Forum is an umbrella company supporting and lobbying for charities and voluntary organisations in Cornwall. They needed a bespoke WordPress theme to enable them to display posts and pages aligned to the structure of their organisation. Plus they only wanted certain menus to appear on certain pages, so it was quite a complex theme. They wanted a clean new design all based around their corporate colours and logo. Non-Profit Organisations and Charities
In economic terms, a nonprofit organization uses its surplus revenues to further achieve its purpose or mission, rather than distributing its surplus income to the organization’s shareholders (or equivalents) as profit or dividends.
So the upshot is every penny needs to work for the organisation.
The majority of non-profits have similar needs on the web. In almost all cases, a non-profit’s website design should make it easy for visitors to learn more about the cause, quickly donate and become more involved. According the NonProfit Quarterly, non-profits overwhelmingly (88%) said their most important communication tools were email and their websites.
Save money with a template
WordPress is an excellent platform for building a charity or non profit organization website because it’s open source and free. WordPress is also pretty easy to set up, update, and maintain, meaning you can do it all yourself. There are some good free themes available if you don’t want to spend any money on the design. But there are some great premium themes specifically designed with the non profit organization in mind. These premium themes give you a professional website design with the functionality required in a non profit website for a relatively small cost, avoiding the need to hire an expensive web designer.
