Lynne Dorrien has been designing and creating handmade rugs since 1982. Rugs have been created for Apple Computers HQ, Glaxo Smithkline and many more including several high end boutique hotels.
Lynne creates unique, exclusive contemporary designs, occasionally combining them with touches of more traditional styles to tailored effect. Inspired by everything from cave paintings to contemporary art and design her work is constantly evolving. She is openly unapologetic for her eclectic style and welcomes every new direction that is presented when working to commission.
Lynne was looking for a bespoke website that would showcase her rugs in her own style. Lynne was very hands on with the design, specifying exactly how she wanted it to look from start to finish. Lynne knew the fonts that she wanted and the entire colour scheme. The home page was entirely built from Lynne’s own photoshop designs.
Lynne wanted all of the text and images to to be quite petite, very much a magazine style layout particularly in the individual rug detail pages.
I designed a bespoke WordPress theme to exactly match Lynne’s specifications. Everything was incorporated exactly as requested. All of the rugs are different sizes so the decade gallery pages show the rugs in a masonry format, which allows for a layout of photos of different shapes and dimensions.
There is a Calendly integration so visitors can book a virtual meeting online.
Lynne is a perfectionist and I am sure that she will be tweaking for a while yet, something she can very easily do with a WordPress design.
